Cotton / Lycra® − Pad Batch Dyed, Stretch Fabrics

As well as the classic 92% Cotton 8% Lycra® 200g/m2 Single Jersey we manufacture a variety of Pad Batch Dyed Cotton/Lycra® fabrics from 140g/m2 to 260g/m for end uses ranging from delicate lingerie to robust sportswear and outerwear.

All our Cotton/Lycra® fabrics are knitted at our factory in Nottingham and dyed in the UK on the only Pad Batch Dyeing machinery in the country- this process is more gentle than the other methods used by our competitors.

Our Pad Batch method involves processing fabric in an open-width state, which results in less fabric agitation and less fabric abrasion which consequently gives a smooth, crease free, pristine finish with no centre crease.

We use top quality Combed Cotton ringspun yarns spun in Europe and branded Lycra® to knit fabrics with four–way stretch & recovery, and use reactive dyestuffs that are fully dischargeable, suitable for discharge printing.

Rainbow Jersey is a Lycra® Assured Knitter, fully accredited by Invista (formerly DuPont) and we can arrange for Lycra® swing tickets to be supplied to attach to garments made from our fabrics.

We can dye fabric to match your specific shades. Please send a sample of the shade you require and we will arrange to lab-dip fabric to match your shade and quote you a fabric price. The minimum quantity for non-stock shades is a dye lot.

The length in metres of fabric produced from a dye lot of fabric depends on the weight per square metre and the fabric width so the minimum order quantity will vary depending on the quality you select - please contact us for details.
